Experimenting with fractional support for AI leadership is likely a great way for small and medium organisations to keep up... or catch up.

Joel Salinas's avatar

It really is! And yeah by this point there’s a lot of catching up

Couldn't agree more - you're hitting my ICP there!

Over here in Europe I help those firms with platform strategy, AI architecture, and workshops that help them rethink how to do business in the age of AI

We need to team up, Jonas ;)

Jonas Braadbaart's avatar

Would love that! But I'm quite strapped for time.

Do you see any of your ICP lurking (or whatever it is that ICPs do) on Substack though? I've started posting on LinkedIn again mainly because of the massive disconnect between my readers and my ICP..

All my clients have come from

Substack readers

That's awesome! I must be doing something wrong 😆

haha let's chat sometime

another great piece. i think you nailed in on how orgs are spending. the disconnect on where the money goes just because it’s ai hype, and the actual vision / strategy is tangible.

thanks, Chris! That's exactly it, it's forward thinking

Fractional AI leadership bridges the gap between stalled adoption and expensive full time expertise with practical strategy execution

Joel Salinas's avatar

It really does!

The idea of fractional leadership as a bridge between hesitation and overcommitment makes the path forward feel much more practical and achievable.

Joel Salinas's avatar

Agreed Dennis!

Most teams are not stuck on tools, they are stuck on how to use them.

I kept nodding reading this. The pattern is identical in nonprofits, just with different stakes. It's not $250K for a CAIO. It's “we can't afford a full-time marketing person,” and somehow that becomes doing nothing with intention. Thanks for your insight, Joel.

Really glad to read this, Shay! :)

most companies are spending heavily on tools with zero strategy behind it. the fractional model makes a lot of sense for where most mid-size businesses actually are right now.

Joel Salinas's avatar

Exactly! Without strategy, you are just drifting

This is a fascinating approach! It seems like fractional AI leadership offers an efficient solution for businesses that need high-level AI strategy without the significant investment of a full-time executive. The idea of fast, targeted results is compelling. How do you see this evolving as more companies adopt AI across various sectors?

Joel Salinas's avatar

Oh I think this is an industry that will explode in the next year or two

Thanks for putting this together with such clarity. And this “at least one specific process you want to improve” is the best way to get started.
