“The old models of leadership were about mastery. You mastered a skill, a market, or a system, and you built an empire on that mastery. The new model of leadership is about fluidity. It’s about being able to learn, unlearn, and relearn faster than your competition”
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for this post it was a good read.
Great framework! Using AI not to replace yourself, but to systematically protect your time and focus for the high level, human-centric work that will create your competitive advantage.
The idea of a personal AI “Board of Directors” is such a clever concept...it reframes the tool from being a general search engine to a highly specialized, customized consultant who knows your life and business model.
Truly valuable insights. This framework shows how adaptability, combined with human-first automation and peer support, creates lasting leadership impact in the AI era.
This exposes a truth we don’t talk about enough: adaptability isn’t just reacting -it’s leading from ahead of the curve. And in the age of AI, that skill’s no longer optional. I really appreciate how Dennis pulls the curtain back on what high performance actually looks like behind the scenes. It’s not just growth charts -it’s health, clarity, and the nerve to evolve.
What’s been your biggest adaptability lesson in the last year?
This is great, Melanie! Health clarity and the nerve to evolve, exactly! For me it has been adapting not alone but with my team, bringing them through the process, it's a challenge.
Yes, me too... getting our team on the same page moving in the same direction is always the biggest challenge, IMHO. It takes spending LOTS of time with them.
Thank you so much for including me in this important series, Joel.
The ability to adapt to change is VITAL for success... now more than ever.
And, as I said in the article... if you don't know how to do something or get somewhere... ASK FOR HELP.
You'll get there faster!
Yes! And hope many readers here reach out to you for help

So glad to hear! Thank you, @Dennis did great
Agree adaptability is a leadership skill! Trying to explain this to my kids who still freak out when they get a less-than-perfect grade on a test. 😆
Yes... I still don't like when I do less-than-perfect... I'm a work in progress. LOL.
Haha explain it to me too! I still need to learn that lesson
